# Trade Academy Lesson 01: C&I BESS RFQ Briefing

This short course helps overseas buyers and China BESS suppliers start from a clearer RFQ before discussing price.

## Who It Is For

1. Overseas buyers comparing China C&I BESS suppliers.
2. Distributors, EPCs and installers preparing storage requests.
3. China suppliers preparing buyer-readable product evidence.
4. Local partners who support inspection, installation, commissioning or after-sales.

## The Core Idea

C&I BESS quotes cannot be compared by price per kWh until the system boundary is clear.

The first conversation should clarify product scope, application, certificates, warranty, local service and evidence readiness. A cleaner RFQ creates better supplier meetings and reduces misunderstanding.

## 45-Minute Session Flow

### 0-5 Minutes: What Problem Are We Solving?

Many buyers ask for "BESS price per kWh" before defining scope. This creates weak comparisons because different suppliers may quote different system boundaries.

### 5-15 Minutes: Define the System Boundary

Clarify whether the quote includes:

1. Battery cabinet or container.
2. PCS.
3. EMS.
4. BMS.
5. Thermal management.
6. Fire safety.
7. Enclosure and protection level.
8. Monitoring and communication.
9. Commissioning, spare parts and service assumptions.

### 15-25 Minutes: Build the Buyer RFQ

The buyer should prepare:

1. Country and project location.
2. Use case: peak shaving, backup, self-consumption, microgrid or other.
3. Power, capacity and discharge duration.
4. Grid connection and site condition.
5. Certification requirements.
6. Delivery timing and Incoterms preference.
7. Local installation and after-sales expectations.

### 25-35 Minutes: Prepare Supplier Evidence

The supplier should prepare:

1. Product matrix.
2. Model-matched datasheets.
3. Certificates and test reports.
4. Warranty terms.
5. Project or application references.
6. Authorized product and system images.
7. Service boundary and spare-part policy.

### 35-45 Minutes: Route the Next Step

After the briefing, each participant should move into one practical action:

1. Buyer: submit a buyer request and RFQ scope.
2. Supplier: submit one product line and evidence pack.
3. Partner: describe local service capability.
4. Solar Futures builder: screen payer, operator, maintenance and real load.

## Assignment

Prepare one page with:

1. Product or project type.
2. Country.
3. Capacity and power if known.
4. What must be included in the quote.
5. Evidence already available.
6. Evidence still missing.
7. One next question for Solarbe Global.
