# PCS RFQ Lesson

## Price per kW is not enough before grid, EMS and protection scope are clear

Duration: 30-45 minutes
Audience: overseas buyers, Chinese PCS suppliers, storage integrators and local service partners
Boundary: education and sourcing preparation only. Not engineering design, certification, quotation, supplier recommendation or order commitment.

## Lesson goal

By the end of the session, participants should be able to turn a loose PCS price request into a cleaner RFQ and a supplier evidence checklist.

## 1. Why PCS RFQs are easy to misread

PCS is often compared by:

1. Rated power.
2. Price per kW.
3. Delivery time.

Those fields are useful, but they do not explain whether the offer can fit the project.

## 2. Where comparison usually breaks

Comparison breaks when offers do not share the same:

1. Grid-code and country scope.
2. AC voltage and transformer boundary.
3. DC voltage range and battery interface.
4. EMS, BMS and communication protocol.
5. Protection functions and test evidence.
6. Cooling method, enclosure and installation environment.
7. Warranty, spare parts and service response.

## 3. Buyer checklist

Buyers should clarify:

1. Country and grid connection context.
2. Rated power and expected operating mode.
3. Battery system and DC voltage window.
4. EMS and BMS protocol requirement.
5. Required functions: grid-forming, grid-following, black start, reactive power or peak shaving.
6. Environmental conditions and enclosure requirement.
7. Evidence needed before technical meeting.

## 4. Supplier checklist

Suppliers should prepare:

1. Model-level datasheet.
2. Grid-code or test scope explanation.
3. EMS/BMS protocol list.
4. Protection function list and related evidence.
5. Installation, cooling and environment limits.
6. Warranty, spare part and service response statement.
7. Product image pack with public-use permission.

## 5. Local partner checklist

Local partners should describe:

1. Country coverage.
2. Inspection, installation, commissioning or maintenance role.
3. Engineer availability.
4. Language and documentation support.
5. Escalation path when PCS, battery, EMS or grid issues overlap.

## Assignment

Choose one PCS product line and prepare:

1. Exact model and rated power.
2. Target market and grid-code scope.
3. EMS/BMS protocol list.
4. Protection and test evidence list.
5. Warranty and service boundary.
6. Authorized product images.

## Next step

Use the PCS RFQ field list, supplier evidence room outline and evidence gap sample before comparing offers or booking a supplier meeting.
